Farhad Heydari (born December 1960) is a British-Iranian journalist, consultant, and entrepreneur known for his work in luxury lifestyle media and strategic branding across the travel, hospitality, and fashion sectors. He has held senior editorial positions at Departures, Centurion, and Ultratravel, and is the founder and CEO of the consultancy firm House of Heydari.[1][2][3]

Early Life and Education

Heydari studied English and journalism at Franklin Pierce University in the United States. While there, he was active in collegiate athletics, particularly tennis and golf.[2]

Career

Journalism and Editorial Work

Heydari began his media career in the United States, initially working with Fox News Media. He later served as International Executive Editor of Departures and Centurion, luxury lifestyle publications produced for American Express's affluent clientele.[1][3] In this role, he was responsible for editorial strategy, content direction, and international editions, including in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.[1]

In addition to his work with American Express, he has contributed to publications such as TIME, Forbes, and The New York Times, with a focus on luxury travel and lifestyle journalism.[4][5]

Heydari has also held editorial roles at Ultratravel magazine, the NetJets inflight publication, and The Rake, a magazine specialising in classic men's style.[2][6][7]

In 2019, Heydari launched House of Heydari, a consultancy advising brands and high-net-worth individuals on strategic communication, branding, and experiential marketing.[2] The firm operates primarily in the luxury, hospitality, fashion, and property sectors.[7]

Heydari has acted as a strategic advisor to private equity firms, family offices, and global luxury brands. He has also consulted for hotel groups including Passport Resorts and served as a brand ambassador for Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG).[2][8]
