Faraya Chalet is a mountain retreat in Faraya, Lebanon, consisting of two chalets, Chalet Verte and Chalet Rouge. Both chalets are a popular destination for families, couples, and friends.

History

Chalet Verte

Originally constructed in 1990, the construction of the chalet was not completed until 2000. The chalet was then renovated in 2010 and transformed into a rental property. In late 2022, due to many clients' requests the balcony was expanded into a terrace.

Chalet Rouge

Chalet Rouge was designed and constructed in just three months in 2015. The construction was very fast due to Faraya Chalet's urgent need to provide a second chalet to lower the pressure on Chalet Verte. The next day after the finishing touches, Chalet Rouge was rented for 6 months.

Location

Faraya Chalet is located in Faraya, a mountain village in the Keserwan District of Lebanon. The village is situated approximately 45 kilometers northeast of Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon. Faraya is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding in the winter and hiking and other outdoor activities in the summer. The village is also home to a number of hotels, restaurants, and other tourist amenities, making it a popular year-round destination.

Chalet Verte

Chalet Verte, was named after the French word for "green," as the dominant color of its design. Originally, the chalet featured a small balcony in 2021, but it was expanded and transformed into a terrace in late 2022.

Chalet Rouge

In late 2015, Chalet Rouge was constructed and named after the French word for "red," "Rouge." The name was inspired by the chalet's iconic red refrigerator that many clients referred to when booking their stay.

Future project

In late 2018, Faraya Chalet announced a plan to add more chalets to their collection, so guests can look to more cozy accommodations, personalized service, and better experiences. While they were still in the planning stages and didn't have a set timeline, the Financial crisis in Lebanon began and Faraya Chalet suspended the project.
