Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, commonly known as Faegre Drinker, is a full-service international law firm. Faegre Drinker currently includes more than 1,300 lawyers and consulting professionals within multiple practice areas, across the United States, the U.K. and China. The firm’s largest groups focus on litigation, corporate, intellectual property and product liability matters. The firm is led by co-chairs Thomas Froehle and Andrew Kassner.[1]

History

Drinker Biddle & Reath

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP was a national law firm founded in Philadelphia in 1849 by John Christian Bullitt. As of 2019, the firm had more than 600 lawyers located in 11 offices in the United States and U.K. [2]

Faegre Baker Daniels

Faegre Baker Daniels was an international law firm formed on January 1, 2012 after the combination of Faegre & Benson LLP and Baker & Daniels LLP.[3] Prior to its combination with Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Faegre Baker Daniels had 674 attorneys and was the nation’s 69th largest firm. [4]

Combination

On December 17, 2019, Faegre Baker Daniels and Drinker Biddle & Reath publicly announced their intention to combine following an affirmative vote by the partnerships of both organizations. Faegre Drinker launched global operations on February 1, 2020, becoming one of the nation’s 50 largest law firms based on both size and projected gross revenue of nearly $1 billion.[5]
