Exoticca (also known as Pangealand SL[1]) is an online travel agency founded in 2013 by Jesús Rodríguez.[2][3] It is headquartered in Barcelona and has a branch in Miami, USA, where it operates as Exoticca Travel US, Inc.[4][5]
History
Since 2020, Exoticca has been supported by venture capital firms[6] such as 14W, Mangrove Capital Partners, Aldea Ventures,[7] Claret Capital Partners, Sabadell Venture Capital[8] and Business Angels like Dídac Lee.[9] In July 2024, the company secured a €60 million Series D funding round led by Quadrille Capital to further develop its tour packages platform.[10] Additionally, in April 2024, Exoticca obtained a €4 million loan from BBVA Spark to support its expansion into Latin America.[11]
In 2023, the company partnered with the Spanish agency &Rosàs to produce advertisements for its campaign.[12]
Pere Vallès is the company's CEO.[1]
Operations
Exoticca's activity focuses on multi-day online tour packages that include flights, accommodation, transportation, and activities.[13]
The company operates in seven countries within North America and Europe, including the United States, Canada,[14] Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Germany.[15][16][17] There are destinations in around 80 countries,[18][19] spread across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and other regions.[4] Exoticca also expanded into Canada in 2019.[13] North America accounted for 70% of the company's sales in 2023.[4]
