Evan Taucher (born 16 June 1992, Tampa, Florida) is an classical guitarist and composer known for his concert career and large Web_presence|online presence.[1].

Taucher is a D'Addario Artist[2] and plays on a guitar made by luthier Steven Walter[3].

Early life and education

Taucher began studying the piano at seven years old and later studied alto saxophone, tuba, and electric guitar throughout his teenage years. As an undergraduate at Florida State University he began his classical guitar studies with Bruce Holzman[4]. While studying with Cuban virtuoso Rene Izquierdo at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for a master's degree, he won prizes in eight international competitions including first prizes in the 2018 SIYAO multi-instrumental competition[5], the Appalachian State Guitar Competition[6] and the Schubert Club Competition[7]. He also pursued an Artist Diploma with Adam Holzman in Austin, Texas, where he co-founded the 501(c)(3) Ex-Aequo Artists which received both the Rainwater Grant[8], as well as a grant from the Augustine Foundation in 2020.

Publications

Evan Taucher recorded a thirty-lesson course with JamPlay named the "Modern Method of Classical Guitar"[9] as well as a masterclass video series for PickupMusic titled "Introduction to Classical Guitar"[10]
