Eugenio Zuccarelli is an Italian data scientist specializing in artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, especially predictive analytics.[1][2]

Education

Zuccarelli was born in Genoa, Italy and emigrated to the United Kingdom first, and to the United States after.[3][4][5][6] He received master's degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Imperial College in 2020 and 2016, respectively.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13] He also studied at Harvard, focusing on people and transformation management.[14][15][16]

Career

While at Imperial College, Eugenio developed a robotic arm to restore the lost abilities of people who suffered trans-humeral amputations by allowing users to control it with their thoughts.[17][18][19][20][21] Zuccarelli also participated at Cybathlon, the first bionics olympics, representing England, where the team won a silver medal.[18][21][22][23]

In 2020, he co-founded the COVID-19 Policy Alliance,[24] a task-force led by MIT faculty and researchers to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.[25][26][27][28] The team, who focused on developing machine learning models to predict the spread of the disease, provided insights to the White House, local governments and healthcare institutions about the hot spots and where to direct supplies and personnel.[29][30][31]

He worked across various Fortune 500 companies, including CVS Health, both across the U.S. and internationally.[32] While at CVS Health, he focused on leading the innovation efforts on complex chronic care, particularly in the areas of diabetes and hypertension care.[33][34]

Zuccarelli's work in artificial intelligence earned him the induction in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2022 for the Healthcare category.[35][36][37][38][39]

He is also a speaker for conferences, including The AI Summit,[40] Hitlab's Digital Health Symposium and other.[41][42][43][44][45][46][47]
