Escape Trailer Industries has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1993 by Reace.[1] Initially, the company's journey began with the purchase and repair of older fiberglass trailers. However, a twist of fate occurred when curious passersby inquired if these trailers were available for rent. Recognizing an opportunity, Reace ventured into the RV rental business under the banner of Economy Travel Trailer Rentals.
The First Escape
The pivotal moment arrived in 2002 when customers renting RVs began requesting additional features for the fiberglass trailers.[1] This prompted the company to hire its first staff member and officially establish itself in the fiberglass trailer industry as Escape Trailer Industries.
Building Customer Centric Relationships
In 2006, the company experimented with selling their trailers through dealerships.[1] However, this posed challenges in maintaining the essential customer relationships they valued. Recognizing the importance of understanding their customers' needs, the company temporarily closed for six months to refine their design and introduce the Escape 5.0 fifth-wheel. Upon their return, they resumed direct sales, aligning better with their business model.
In 2009, Escape Trailer Industries initiated its first-ever Escape Trailer rally, an event that would become an annual tradition, welcoming all Escape owners and prospective buyers. By 2012, the company had established that direct sales with their manufactured product yielded superior results, allowing them to emphasize quality while maintaining fair prices.
Manufacturer Direct Sales
In 2012, the company made significant strides by purchasing its current property. Four years later, in 2016, they expanded further by adding a third building to the property, accompanied by facility renovations and upgrades. This investment resulted in a world-class fiberglass manufacturing capability and an enhanced production line, further boosting customer appreciation, orders, and options.
KV Private Equity Partnership
In 2018, Escape Trailer Industries entered into a partnership with KV Private Equity, embarking on the next phase of their growth strategy, supported by additional resources.[2]
