Ernest "Ernie" Reynolds Ambrose was a Canadian Professor and administrator. He previously held the position of Dean of the University of Saskatchewan Faculty of Dentistry and McGill University Faculty of Dentistry.
Early life and education
Ernest R. Ambrose obtained his DDS degree from McGill University in 1950.
Career
He became chairman of the department of Operative Dentistry at the McGill University Faculty of Dentistry in 1957 and served as Dean from 1970 - 1977. During his deanship he was instrumental in the founding of the Oral and Maxillofacial and Prosthodontics programs.[1] He then served as Dean to the developing University of Saskatchewan Faculty of Dentistry from 1977-1985. [2]
He was appointed Professor Emeritus of Restorative and Prosthodontic Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan in 1993.[3]
Awards
He received the Master Teacher Award in 1993 from the University of Saskatchewan.[4]
