Absama Nur (early 1510's – 28 February 21, 1543), also known as Emir Absama Bin Nur bin Ali, was a senior Somali military commander and a Malassay who grew up in the court of Abun Adashe serving the Adal Sultanate at its height and rising to a Wali and then becoming Emir ruling multiple highland Abyssinian regions he subdued under the command of the sultanate.[1][2]

Absama Nur is said to have been one of the last who stayed with the Imam until the very end. Consolidating power in the Ethiopian highlands interior whilst ruling over a vast territory from southern Nubia to the Dahlak Archipelago. He likely was killed or died of his wounds at the Battle of Wayna Daga.
