Ellen "Ellie" Decker is an American politician[1] who has been elected to serve on the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District Board (NSCUDD).[2] [3][4][5] Decker serves in Seat 3 on the No Party Affiliation Board.[6]

Early Life & Education

Ellie Decker earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Kansas while on the Honor Roll. After graduating she passed the GMAT and began her MBA at the University of Missouri, she then transferred to Baker University in Kansas.[7]

Career

Ellen Mary Willert-Decker, (Ellie Decker), dropped her maiden name and kept her first husband's last name within her legal name because her education and her career were earned under Ellen M. Willert.[7] Her career was in Office Management and Accounting including full Payroll, the MS Office Suite, and Web Master. She has owned a few businesses including co-owning an Excavating Company, owning an Aerobics Studio, a Makeup Sales business, and doing various Bookkeeping work.[7] Decker is currently an elected official on the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District Board (NSCUDD). NSCUDD oversees potable, non-potable, reclaimed, and wastewater in addition to trash collection and waste to energy recycling.[8][9]

Politics

Decker got serious about politics in the Summer of 2018 during one of the worst Water Quality emergencies in Southwest Florida.[10] She contacted numerous elected officials until 2020 Florida Clean Waterways Act.[11]
