Elise Barwick (born 31 March 1999) is an Australian rules footballer playing for Gold Coast in the AFL Women's (AFLW).
Football career
Barwick began her Football career playing in the Tasmanian state league. She was often used on the wing and impressed with her speed and defensive pressure.[1] To further challenge herself for the 2023 Season, Barwick signed for South Adelaide Football club in the SANFL Women’s League.[2][3] Barwick would go onto play in that seasons grand final, losing by three points.[4]
Prior to the beginning of the 2023 AFLW Season, Barwick was signed as an injury replacement player for the Gold Coast Suns.[5][6] Barwick made her debut against Richmond in Round 6.[7][8] She impressed enough to hold her spot for her first four games.[9] However, during the opening moments of Round 9, Barwick was knocked unconscious and stretchered from the ground following an awful head clash.[10][11] Barwick returned for the clubs Elimination Final after missing one week with concussion protocols.
