Elijah Stepanovich (born 1986) is an American author and educator, best known for The Shattered Veil series, including The Heir of Ash and Thunder and The Oath of Ash and Thunder.[1]
Early life and education
Elijah Stepanovich was born on September 7th, 1986 in Cleveland, Ohio. He moved with his family to Florida in 1996. Raised by a West Virginian father and a Serbo-Croatian mother, his mixed cultural background influences many of his mythological and narrative themes. He later attended Arizona State University, where he earned degrees in History and Political science.[2]
Career
Writing
Stepanovich began writing fiction during the COVID-19 pandemic. His debut project evolved into what became The Shattered Veil series. The first novel, The Heir of Ash and Thunder, was published during that period. Its sequel, The Oath of Ash and Thunder, followed as the continuation of the series. His writing is characterized by myth-inspired worldbuilding, emotional depth, and the convergence of ancient lore with contemporary settings.[3]
Education / Teaching
In addition to his writing, Stepanovich works as an educator. His academic background in history and political science informs his pedagogical approach, blending cultural context and historical awareness with narrative understanding.
