Early life

Eli Mosley was born in Bartow, Florida to Michael and Bonita Mosley. Michael Mosley worked as a mining engineer in the phosphate industry of Polk County, Florida.[5] Eli developed a heart for country music early in his life. He was 6 years old when he watched Tracy Byrd perform at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida and decided that he wanted to be a country music performer.[6] At 14, he saw George Strait perform, cementing his desire to follow his dream of becoming a professional musician.[2] He pursued his music education by studying and performing in his school choirs, including the prestigious Crystal Cathedral Academy’s Children’s Choir, in Garden Grove California.

Following high school, Eli joined the US Marine Corps Reserves.[7] He stated, “I went into the Marine Corps to toughen me up for the music business and to learn about work ethic and drive. I paired that with the education I got from Southeastern University as a solid foundation for my music career.”[2] While Eli served in the Marine Corps, as a Motor Transportation Mechanic, he attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida where he studied voice and music business.[8] During his last semester, he attended the Contemporary Music Center in Nashville, Tennessee.[9] He undertook an intense study in the art of songwriting and performing. He wrote many songs during this period, which later became the basis of his self-titled album Eli.[2] He graduated from Southeastern University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Business.[8]

Following graduation, Eli interned at Lakeland, Florida’s WPCV, 97 Country, and later was hired as an assistant sound engineer.[1]

Music Career

2015-2019: Eli performs in the Southeast and beyond
In 2015, Mosley began performing throughout Florida with his local central Florida band.[10] Eventually, he branched out into Georgia, throughout the Southeast, and as far as California.[11] He particularly enjoyed performing for benefit concerts for charities such as Saint Jude and the local charity, Kid’s Pack which feeds underprivileged kids in Central Florida.[9]

Eli released his second album, Come Along with Me, in 2017 at the Sound Emporium, Studio West and Ocean Way in Nashville, Tennessee.[2] He released his third album, Sunday Morning Sinners in 2019, produced by Nashville producers Kip Allen and Mitch Furr.[8]

With the release of Our Song, featured in the Sunday Morning Sinners album, numerous radio stations throughout the Southeast began playing his music.[12]

2020-Present: Eli tours nationally
Beginning in 2020, Eli began touring nationally. For his first show of the year, Eli Mosley opened for his main influence, Tracy Byrd, at the Youkey Theatre in Lakeland, Florida on February 13, 2020.[13] Shortly thereafter, the nation shut down due to the Covid 19 pandemic. 31 shows were canceled, but Eli still managed to play a few shows in less restricted areas around the country. Later he was able to perform at the Buffalo Round Up in Custer, South Dakota[14], as well as shows in Mitchell SD, Pierre SD[15] and Jackson, Wyoming[16].

2021 expanded Mosley’s national tour footprint, following the Covid pandemic’s loosening of its grip, with shows in Florida, Utah[17], Texas, Tennessee, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming[18], Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, North Carolina, and California. The highlight of the tour was Eli’s performance at the Market Street USA Celebration in Allen, Texas, in front of a 45,000-person crowd.[19]

In 2022 Mosley released Doin’ Alright in April to hundreds of country radio stations. By August had moved to #77 on the Music Row Country Breakout Radio chart.[3] This was in conjunction with an extensive radio station tour throughout the states of Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.[2] In June, Mosley kicked off his Doin’ Alright tour at the Cody, Wyoming Opening Nite Rodeo.[20][21] He wrapped up his tour at the Carolina Corn Fest in September[22] and the Harvest Festival in Georgia[23]. Eli has been invited and performed, for several years, at the BMI Island Hopper Songwriters Fest at Fort Myers, Beach, Florida.[24] Eli’s complete discography can be found on Spotify.[25]
