Eli Bales Dugan (born May 31st, 2003), is an American floorball player[1] and hockey analyst for Williams College[2]. He is noted for his resemblance to actor, Timothée Chalamet. He is also noted for his high academic performance, having been a National Merit Scholarship Program.[3][4]
Early Life and Family
Dugan was born in Seattle WA, USA to Geoffrey Dugan and Laura Bales. He has a younger brother, Sean Dugan, both of whom lived in Singapore for 10 years in their childhood, where he acquired the ability to speak in Mandarin Chinese[2]. In 2017, Dugan moved back to the United States of America to attend high school at Annie Wright Schools in Tacoma, WA[5]. He was the student council president[6], and ran on the track team[7] before graduating with honors and a full International Baccalaureate in the first graduating class of the Annie Wright Upper School for Boys. Dugan received a perfect score on his American College Test and scored exceptionally well on his SAT exam[2]. He was accepted into Williams College, where he studies currently.
Athletic Career
Dugan became interested in hockey starting from a young age. He attended his father's (Geoffrey Dugan) club hockey matches, where he reportedly was enamored with the sport. Beginning at age 5, he played on the Singapore Ice Dragons hockey team[8], and beginning at age 9 he began playing on the Opera Estate Primary School varsity floorball team where he was captain for two years. After moving back to the United States, he began to play for the Kent Valley Tornadoes, where he was offered a spot on the traveling team, however he declined to focus on his studies.
In 2018, he was invited to join the USA U19 Men's National Team[9] where he quickly became a standout on the court as a right-wing forward[10]. He is also noted as being a leader both on the pitch and off. He was in many tournaments, like the Men's U19 International Tournament in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada[11] and the Men's U19 World Championship in Uppsala, Sweden.
