El Leo Mai, Born: Leonardo Pederson is a Central American-Danish rapper and artist born in Panama on September 9, 2007. He released his debut album "Mood Swings" on April 1st, 2023 under 4774595 records, and his follow-up album "LAST SUMMER WITH U" on June 18th of the same year. He is known to create a unique blend of rap, reggaeton, pop, and dance music to create a catchy, fun, and hard-hitting body of work.
"Mood Swings" Debut Album
His first album "Mood Swings" was released on April 1st, 2023 under 4774595 records DK. It featured singles such as "Este Nocha", "Solo a Mi" and "Fat Fellow - Remix" featuring Lil Chlamydia which was a notorious diss track on his fellow classmate Oscar Millar. Most of the recording process occurred in the early months of 2023 in Copenhagen, El Leo Mai wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered all of the songs himself with collaborators like Lil Chlamydia contributing vocal credits. The album was released on the first of April to moderate critical acclaim but low streaming numbers and record sales, nevertheless "Mood Swings" was a landmark album for the artist.[1]
LAST SUMMER WITH U
His follow-up album "LAST SUMMER WITH U" marked a shift in El Leo Mai's music, while lots of the songs recorded for the album were recorded at the same time as "Mood Swings" Leo experimented more with his sonic pallet and vocal range, it was also sported almost double the length of "Mood Swings". Singles like "Tu a Merced" and "Loading..." were released prior to the album's release on June 18, 2023. Upon release, "LAST SUMMER WITH U" was both more critically acclaimed and performed better on streaming services, this is the last album release from El Leo Mai to this date.[2]
Recent Activity
Since the release of "LAST SUMMER WITH U" Leo has been relatively quiet both in terms of musical output and social media presence[3], he released the EP "NO CHOICE" a week after the release of "LAST SUMMER WITH U" and released a pair of singles in August of 2023 "HOY EN DIA" and "NO ME CONOCIAS BIEN" but that has been the extent of Leo's musical releases to this date.[4][5][6]
