Eka is a small village of 3822 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Eka depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Eka is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Eka's pin code is 345023[4], and village code is 02050200. The area of Eka is segregated as 497 hectares irrigated area, 1550 hectares unirrigated, the 1265.6 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 509 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 351 male, 102 female with 371 (81.9%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 292 males and 79 females. 219 males and 68 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 4 female agricultural labor. 82 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of POKARAN and Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
