EdrawMind (formerly MindMaster[1]) is a commercial collaborative mind mapping and brainstorming software developed by Edraw, founded in 2004. This cross-platform mind mapping tool is available for Windows, MacOS, Linux, Web, Android, and IOS. EdrawMind supports mind maps, organization charts, timelines, fishbone diagrams, and more. It can be used, for purposes of collaborative brainstorming, project management, knowledge management, meeting management, note taking, presentation, outline, etc.

Features

EdrawMind supports more than 10 types of file formats for data import/export. It can read FreeMind, Xmind, MindManager, Markdown, Edraw Max, Microsoft Word files, etc. And save into MindManager and YoudaoNote documents. Besides the built-in mind map resources, EdrawMind provides a UGC (user-generated content) templates community, where users can share and use more templates. EdrawMind's features are as follows:

Development

The software was developed by Edraw. The EdrawMind V6.5 joined Edraw. And in 2020, EdrawMind V8.1.0 added a new mind map gallery, a place for users to share mind map templates and resources. [2] After June 2021, EdrawMind was re-branded from the original brand name MindMaster. [1]

File format

An EdrawMind Workbook can contain more than one page, just like the sheet of a spreadsheet. Each page can have many topics, including with a central topic, numerous main topics and floating topics. The .emmx file format that implements EdrawMind Workbooks contains a ZIP compressed archive with: a directory containing all XML files, a directory of binary files containing all page information, an XML file for document information, an XML file for theme style, a .png image for thumbnail, and some other directories containing information about attachments, images and more, a directory of files describing the linking relationships between resources and pages.
