DynaScan Technology Inc. is a Taiwanese-American display manufacturer known for producing high-brightness LCDs, outdoor digital kiosks, and LED display systems.[1] Its products are used in public information displays, retail storefronts, transportation facilities, and commercial signage installations around the world.[2]
History
DynaScan was founded in 1998 in Taipei, Taiwan, originally focusing on LED-based display systems before transitioning to high-brightness LCD technology.[3] In the early 2000s, the company released its first line of high-brightness LCDs designed for storefronts and window displays.[4]
Over time, DynaScan expanded into outdoor kiosk enclosures, fine-pitch LED panels, and energy-efficient ePaper solutions.[5] The firm maintains its manufacturing and research base in Taipei, with regional offices in Irvine, California, and Augsburg, Germany.[6]
Products and Technologies
DynaScan develops and manufactures several categories of professional display systems:
- High-brightness LCD displays — available in sizes from 32″ to 86″, with peak brightness levels up to 6,000 nits, for use in window-facing or high-ambient-light locations.[7]
- Window-facing dual-sided displays — designed for retail and merchandising applications.
- Outdoor kiosks — freestanding, IP-rated enclosures for smart city, transport, and retail use.[8]
- Fine-pitch LED displays — pixel pitches as low as 1.2 mm, suitable for large-scale or high-ambient-light environments.[9]
- ePaper signage — energy-efficient, sunlight-readable digital signage based on E Ink Kaleido 3 Outdoor technology.[10]
Industry Recognition
The company’s products have been featured in major industry events such as Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) and InfoComm.[11] Trade publications including *invidis*, *Display Daily*, and *rAVe [PUBS]* have covered its product launches and technology developments.[12]
In 2024, DynaScan’s DW Series of outdoor and window-facing displays received an iF Design Award for its mechanical design and sunlight readability.[13] The following year, its **Total Control Cloud (TCC)** platform — a cloud-based system for remote monitoring and maintenance of digital signage — received an iF Design Award in the Service Design category.[14]
Operations
- invidis* described the company’s Taipei headquarters as a “factory in a tower,” where design, assembly, and quality assurance are integrated within one facility.[15]
Regional teams in the United States and Germany coordinate sales, marketing, and technical support.[16]
