Durbhat is a small village of 577 hectares in Ponda Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Durbhat depends on QUEULA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Durbhat is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Durbhat's pin code is 403401[5], and village code is 00020400. The area of Durbhat is segregated as 7.09 hectares irrigated area, 194.32 hectares unirrigated, the 75.35 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 300.58 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Durbhat has One post office (Durbhat B.O) and Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Durbhat has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

Durbhat is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 3443 and has total administration over 771 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of QUEULA and North Goa to sell arecanuts and make their living.
