Dumitru Găleșanu (Romanian pronunciation: [duˈmitru gəleʃanu]; born December 5, 1955, Tia Mare commune, Potlogeni village, Olt County) is a jurist, postmodern Romanian writer and poet-philosopher, essayist and book illustrator. Găleșanu's work "explores the new world found at the frontiers of science, philosophy, music, and painting"[1] , the authorial discourse "intersecting the poetry of thought with that of feeling, on a metaphysical plane, in which the marvelous experience of existence is projected onto the orbit of scientific knowledge"[2] .

Studies and professional career

In the period between 1981 and 1986, he attended undergraduate studies at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Law, Legal Sciences profile, Law specialization. Later, between 2003 and 2004, at the same university in the city of Cluj-Napoca, he attended one-year postgraduate refresher courses, specializing in Civil law - Commercial law. Between 2004 and 2006, he then continued with Master's university studies, specializing in Institutions of Romanian Private Law, at Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu - Faculty of Law "Simion Bărnuţiu".

Immediately after completing his university studies, he worked as a legal advisor, after which, starting from November 1, 1989, he pursued his professional career in the judicial field, holding the public office of magistrate within the judiciary of Romania[3] . Initially, he served as a judge in the Mixed Section (Criminal Law - Civil Law) of the Râmnicu Vâlcea Court - until 1997, and then continuing at the Section I for Civil rights and liberties within the Vâlcea County Tribunal.

On September 3, 2014, he ceased his professional activity as a result of retirement, based on Decree no. 562/2014 issued for this purpose by the President of Romania.[4]

In parallel with his student life, during his university studies and alongside his subsequent professional activity, he dedicated himself to his passion for philosophy and poetic art. In this context, he continued to write and then to publish his lyrical-philosophical books, including after the end of his professional career.

His poetic-philosophical creation has been appreciated in specialized literature as being "cosmological and universal".
