Dušan Nonković (Дусан Нонковиц) (* June 11, 1940 in Subotica, Yugoslavia) is a Serbian poet, writer and journalist [1] and a recipient of Medal of Humanity (2005)[2]. He is the editor of the blog "Glas Dijaspore" [3].

Life

Dušan Nonković was born on Jube 11, 1940, in Subotica, Yugoslavia to Smilja Nonković (born Teodorović) and Stevan Nonković. He has two older brothers and two older sisters. When Dušan Nonković was 1 year old, his father was killed in the massacre of Kraljevo and Kragujevac [4]. Dušan Nonković immigrated to Germany in 1969 [5].

Humanitarian commitment

Dušan Nonković started his humanitarian commitment with the beginning of the Yugoslav wars in 1991. He was a co-founder of Hilfe Jetzt e.V. which amongst other things donated medical equipment and an ambulance to a nursing home in Subotica. The Government of Yugoslavia awarded him a Medal of Humanity [2].

Journalistic work and poetry

Dušan Nonković wrote several books of poems and non-fiction books and runs a blog. Several journalistic work and poems have been published in anthologies [6], [7].
