Career

Anand Patil's diverse successes in education and athletics had humble beginnings He received his school education in Kurli, tal. Chikod, Dist. Belgaon's sole Rayat Shikshan Sanstha school. Despite passing his HSC or SSLC with flying colours (95% in PCM and 96% in PCB), he was unable to gain admission to any of the prestigious colleges because his 10th was from Maharashtra and his 12th was from Karnataka ( Devchand College).His lecturers assisted him in bringing a case before the high court, and as a result, both states were required to admit him as they saw fit. In this important ruling, 5% of the seats were set aside for students from the border regions of Maharashtra and Karnataka. After getting admission to both engineering and medicine he chose to pursue his graduation on medicine from the Vaishampayan Medical College, Solapur

Anand Patil's multifaceted achievements in the field of Education and Athletics had very humble beginnings. He did his schooling in the only rayat Shikshan Sanstha school in Karnatak in his village Kurli, tal. Chikod, Dist Belgaon. Having cleared his HSC or SSLC with flying colours 95% in PCM and 96% in PCB, he could not secure admission in any of the reputed colleges because his 10th was from Maharashtra and 12th was from karnatak ( Devchand College). His teachers helped him file a case in the high court, after which both states were ordered to give him admission as per his desire and in this landmark judgement 5% seats were reserved for students from border areas both states Maharashtra and karnataka. During his high school career he got selected for Army Medical Corps , This was the beginning of his multifaceted Education. He went on to complete his MBBS, M.Sc. Biotech (Pune Univ - First batch), MS (Gen Surgery) (GMC) and MA is History, Sociology. M.Phil in Anthropology, LLB and diploma in Hospital administration among others. During his MS he came across students preparing for the civil services and appeared for the exam in 1988. He qualified with an AIR of 68 and was allotted the IPS, which he did not join and went on to start the legendary Study Circle, a pioneering institute training students for the Civil Services.

ATHLETIC CAREER

Dr Anand Patil, an Ironman Silver World Athlete, was born on February 8, 1963 in India. Only Indian to have successfully completed 9 Comrades, Australia Ultraman, 21 Ironman, 6 Deccan Cliff Hanger (5 podium finish) and RAAM qualifier, 1 Ultraspice 1200 Kms race, 10 Endurance events back to back in as many weeks, Jio mumbai cyclothon with podium finish, Matheran Endurathon, Munnar Ultra with podium finish/ Dr. Anand Patil was always active in sports, he was part of his medical college swimming team and his childhood too had been full of running, cycling and swimming. He was introduced to urban recreational athletics due to the insistence of his Cardiac surgeon friend, who made him enrol in a local gym for fitness. the gym was an associate of the Mumbai Marathon ( Then known as the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon). Dr. Patil first participated in the half marathon in 2009 and the rest in history.
