K. K. Gopinathan (born 1 October 1949), also published as Kannoly Karunakaran Gopinathan, is an Indian obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Kerala. He has authored peer-reviewed research in prenatal diagnosis and assisted reproductive technology, including clinical studies on intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and case reports of congenital cardiac anomalies.

Early life and education

Gopinathan was born in Kerala. He studied medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, graduating with an MBBS in 1974, and later completed postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Kerala.

Career

Gopinathan co-founded Edappal Hospitals in Edappal, Kerala, and established the Centre for Infertility Management and Assisted Reproduction (CIMAR). He has been cited in regional media for unusual clinical cases, including a 2025 delivery by a woman of very short stature in Malappuram.
