Formerly a high school teacher in Hong Kong, he swapped the chalk and talk of teaching for the rhymes and rhythms of an ambitious artist. Early Life and Career
Dr. Holic was born and raised in Hong Kong, aspiring to be a doctor like many Asian children. However, he decided to pursue his passion for the arts and studied English as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. There, he was an active student in Chung Chi College, serving as President of the Chung Chi Folk Song Committee and participating in various vocal, dance, and drama performances. This experience helped him develop into a versatile artist.
In 2018, he took part in the unprecedented Hong Kong TV audition shows "King Maker" and "King Maker II," competing with numerous successful artists/groups, such as Mirror, Error, MC, and Mike Tsang. His participation in the TV show "King Maker" brought him into the limelight as he performed with renowned artist Keung To, captivating audiences and lighting up discussions with their rendition of "Qi Tian Da Sheng" by Hua Chen Yu.[1]
