Dmytro Kotsiubailo (pseudonym - Da Vinci; born November 1, 1995, Zadnistryanske village, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian volunteer, military serviceman, junior lieutenant of the Da Vinci Wolves special unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Hero of Ukraine (2021). Member of the Right Sector National Liberation Movement (2020).
Kotsiubailo is the first military volunteer to be awarded the title "Hero of Ukraine" for life [1].
In 2022, he was included in the "30 under 30: Faces of the Future" rating by "Forbes"[2].
Biography
Dmytro Kotsyubaylo was born on November 1, 1995, in the village of Zadnistryanskyе, now Burshtynsk community, Ivano-Frankivsk district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity.
Participant of the Russian-Ukrainian war, in particular — commander of a volunteer platoon (2014) and a squad (2015). In 2014, he was seriously wounded in Pisky, Donetsk region, and after recovering he returned to the front.
Awards
The title Hero of Ukraine with the awarding of the Golden Star order (November 30, 2021) — for personal courage shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Order "National Hero of Ukraine" (2017)[3].
