August Kostrubala Ramberg (born August 24, 1996), popularly known as Discrete, is a Swedish music artist and producer best known for his eclectic style of merging a diverse range of genres.[1] He garnered industry recognition with the release of his debut song - Without You in 2018, which was then followed by a continuous release of new and unique songs like Never Know and Trippin’ Bout You amongst other collaborative projects.[2]

Within three years of his appearance in the music industry, Discrete has garnered mass public attention resulting in his constantly rising listeners, amounting to over a million including Spotify and YouTube.[3] His songs are also available on other music streaming platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, and Soundcloud.[4]

Early life

Discrete was born on August 24, 1996, in Karolinska, Stockholm. He grew up in a creative household and discovered music production when he was 13 years old. Throughout his teenage years, Discrete developed his production versatility by taking up solo projects and eventually indulging in writing and producing for artists spanning just about every genre.

Career

Discrete started his career in 2018 when he released his debut song Without You. which helped him gain momentum as a budding artist.[5] In the next year, he released two more songs - Never Know and Trippin’ Bout You, which ensured Discrete steadfast popularity.[6]

In 2020, Discrete released his debut EP called EXPLORE which comprised five songs representing emotional spaces.[7] For this EP, Discrete collaborated with several other artists such as Victoria Voss, Sistek, and Alex Shield. The EP garnered much attention resulting in Discrete acquiring over 85 million streams across all platforms.[8]

In 2021 Discrete collaborated with more artists like Pawl Ouse, Dylan Fuentes, and Kiesza. His latest single was Drown in Me[9] that marks his first release with NEON16, an innovative incubator, and Astralwerks.
