Munganahalli Narayanaswamy Dinesh, commonly known as Dinesh MN, is an Indian Police Service officer from Karnataka, currently serving as Additional Director General of Police of Anti Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan.[1]

Early Life and Education

Dinesh MN was born in Karnataka and completed his schooling in the state. He then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Bangalore University before clearing the Indian Police Service exam in 1995.

Career

After joining the Indian Police Service, Dinesh was allotted the Rajasthan cadre. He started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Sirohi district in Rajasthan. In 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police and served in various districts of Rajasthan including Nagaur, Dausa, Udaipur and Barmer.[2]

In 2007, Dinesh was arrested in connection with the Sohrabuddin- Tulsiram Prajapati encounter cases and was in jail for seven years.[3] After his release in May 2014, he was appointed as Inspector General of Police (IG) of the Anti Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan.

As IG of ACB Rajasthan, Dinesh was credited with exposing a major corruption racket in the state's mining department, which led to the arrest of 1983 batch IAS Officer Ashok Singhvi, who was working as Mines Secretary. He also led a team that successfully neutralized the gang of dreaded gangster Anand Pal Singh, who carried a reward of 5 lakhs.

In 2021, Dinesh was promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the Anti Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan.

Personal Life

Dinesh MN is married to K. Vijaylakshmi and has two children. He is known for his honesty and integrity in the police force and is highly respected by his colleagues and subordinates.

In his free time, Dinesh enjoys reading books on history and crime, and is an avid traveller.

Honors and Awards

Dinesh MN has been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2021, and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2013.
