Diana Malenkova (born 11 January 2001) is a Russian-American musician from Newark, New Jersey, who primarily performs classical and symphonic metal music. She has been a performing musician since the age of 7, and started her own symphonic metal project in 2022. She was also elected to act in Season 9 of Amazon Prime's show "The College Tour" in 2023.[1]
Career
Music
Diana studied piano and classical music for over 15 years and taught at SDA Church of the Oranges at the age of 13. Her official music performance career started in high school when her school's choir teacher accidentally caught her practicing piano.[2] Since then, she has performed in various theaters in both New Jersey and New York, including SOPAC and NJPAC. In 2022, Diana started a solo symphonic metal project, the first song of which was "Don Juan Triumphant".[3] While Diana currently makes music alone, it is her aspiration to expand her projects to form a symphonic metal band.
Acting
In 2023, Diana acted in Amazon Prime's show "The College Tour," where she represented Seton Hall University through her academic excellence.[4] The episode aired on Amazon Prime on August 15, 2023.[5]
Science
Diana Malenkova has engaged in four research laboratories and five research projects during her undergraduate career. Since 2021, she has presented her project on dendritic surface interactions of pigmented oxide suspensions and kaolin colloids.[6] In 2023, she presented her antibiotic research for the "Integration of In Vivo, In Vitro and In Silico Studies in Molecular and Biomedical Sciences" conference at the Institute of Neuroimmune Pharmacology.[7][8] Her second project in 2023 explored the use of Sildenafil as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease.[9] For both of her research projects, Diana has received a Student Travel Award[10]
Diana has received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Seton Hall University in 2023.
