Director Dhiraj Kumar was born and brought up in Patna, Bihar. He was born in a humble middle-class family of Mr. Rajendra Prasad in Patna, Bihar on October 26th, 1975. He completed his education from Patna before moving to Mumbai.[1]

Career

Dhiraj Kumar started his career with Bhojpuri cinema and later moved to Bollywood. In 2011, Dhiraj directed his first Bhojpuri film 'Elaan (2011)', starring Ashiqui fame actor Rahul Roy, Manoj Tiwari and Lovy Rohatgi. The film was loved by audiences as well as critics and became successful film at the box-office. His second Bhojpuri film was titled 'Sabse Bada Mujrim' starring Rahul Roy and Kajal Raghwani. The film marked the acting debut of popular RJD leader from Bihar, Babban Yadav. In 2018, he decided to start his production house named Insite India which is into producing films and television projects. Kumar is the head and founder of the production house.[2][3] He made his first Hindi feature film under the banner of his own production house Insite India titled 'Kaashi in Search of Ganga', starring Sharman Joshi, Aishwarya Devan, Govind Namdev, Manoj Pahwa, Manoj Joshi and Akhilendra Mishra. The film released on October 26th, 2018. Indo-Asian News Service gave the movie 3/5 stars, saying that the movie "is a layered tale of revenge with a good dose of romance and suspense." Kumar is the founder of Insite India Production House which is produces films and television projects. He is currently working on his next project Suswagatam Khushamadeed.[4][5][6][7][8] The film will star Pulkit Samrat in the lead role. It will be extensively shot in Delhi and Lucknow.[9][10][11][12]

Confirming the news, director Dhiraj says, “We wanted to cast an actor from Delhi, and Pulkit Samrat was our first choice for this role. Luckily, Pulkit didn’t take much time to agree for this project. He is an extremely talented actor and I’m sure that he will do justice to the role. I look forward to working with him.”[13][14]

Kumar made his directorial debut with Bhojpuri movie 'Elaan' and later directed Kajal Raghwani and Rahul Roy in 'Sabse Bada Mujrim'. “It has been an interesting journey for me so far. I cherish all the memories and experiences I’ve made over the years. It has helped me grow as a person and a director,” Kumer adds.

Like Dhiraj’s last film Kaashi in Search of Ganga, Suswagatam Khushamadeed will have a social message for the audience as well. “I am really keen about the subject I choose.[15] I want my films to have a positive message for the audience so they can have food for thought. This film will spread the message of love, friendship, and kindness,” he concludes.[16][17]
