Dhananjoy Kumar Das (born 31 December 1975) is a Bangladeshi Civil Servant. He is working as Joint Secretary under Public Security Division of Ministry of Home Affairs (Bangladesh) since March 2023.[1][2]
Prior to that, he worked as Joint Secretary of Health Service Division, Deputy Secretary of Public Security Division, First Secretary (diplomatic rank) at Bangladesh High Commission, Malaysia and other capacities in the field administration.
Early life
Das was born in 1975 at Hatiya Upazila in Noakhali District, Bangladesh. He completed a master's degree from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka. He obtained his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology of West Bengal under TCS of Colombo Plan Scholarship. He joined Bangladesh Civil Service on 31 June 2003 as Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate.
Career
Das started his career as Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate in Meherpur District. Then he worked as Senior Assistant Commissioner in Moulvibazar District. He served as Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila. Later he was transferred as Senior Assistant Secretary in the Local Government Division under Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives. In 2012, he had been appointed as First Secretary (Commercial), Bangladesh High Commission, Malaysia. On 27 November 2016, he was promoted to Deputy Secretary. After returning from Kuala Lumpur, he had been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Public Security Division. He served as Joint Secretary in the Health Service Division[3]
He is the current President of 21st BCS Administration Forum.[4] [5] [6] He is also elected as Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Administrative Service Association.[7]
