Devin Todd Millar is an American singer and songwriter, video content creator, and animator.

Personal life

He took singing lessons from a friend of his family’s for a short time but self-taught himself by ear for Dance music production.[1] He later dropped out of school to pursue his music career.

Career and history

He began his music career with a single titled “Battery”, and debuted with “Crack & Collide” as an extended play.[2]

In 2015, he released a song titled “Fedora” as a single.[3] He was signed by Voodoo Doughnut Recordings and released an EP titled, “I’m a Celebrity” that same year.[4][5][6] and he also competed in his school talent show that year, and won. He later released “Delinquents” as his debut album.[7][8] Then he released a single titled “Adolescence” on Cavity Search Records.[9][10] The song was featured on the Hulu-based series, Shut Eye and four music videos were created at the time to accompany these releases.[11] The videos were also used to promote his performances in Austin, Texas at SXSW of 2017[12] According to a press release, he also preformed with Mega Pixel, Velvet, and Roselit Bone at the same event as a free show.[13]

Later, Devin returned to music and changed his image into a virtual band which features animated characters. He also began creating animated music videos in order to pay homage to the culture of the 90s and 2000s which inspired him in addition to his memories. His singles "Doll Life" and “Unite” were first.[14]

The music videos for the singles “Hoody” and “BFD” were also uploaded onto YouTube and officially released onto streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.[15][16][2] He then released "Snack Shack" with Isabella Dougherty,[17] as well as "Children With Squirt Guns" and "ElectroVoice" for albums.[18][19]

Devin later released a single titled "Welcome To The Beach" along with DreamDoll.[20]

Artistry

Devin has an anti-censorship attitude and wishes to end double standards as he believes it ruins artist's creative power.[1] He wishes to be perceived as normal among the public.[21]

Devin‘s inspirations include Aqua, and Vengaboys and describes his style as the "girl next door" and the "farmer's daughter" growing up in Yacolt, and learning to play the piano at 5 years old Beyoncé|.[21]
