DevCircle Africa is a global job placement network for software developers and content writers. DevCircle Africa focuses on sustainable careers, connecting technologists with long-term engagements, access to international roles, competitive compensation, and career coaching through the Learning Community Platform.
History
DevCircle Africa was founded in 2019 by Mark Sikaundi. In October 2022, DevCircle Africa launched their first recruitment world wide by putting their first call for applications on FaceBook. The company hired their first —two Nigerian software engineers and one Kenyan —after receiving 700 applications for 3 spots.
In 2023 Early, Mark Sikaundi stepped down from his full-time role as President and transitioned into a supporting role as the Chair of the DevCircle Africa Advisory Council and the DevCircle Africa Product Management Group. Of the original founders, Mark Sikaundi continues to work at DevCircle Africa.
As of 2023 Late winter, DevCircle Africa provides technologists from six countries in Africa to access opportunities, learn and networking with global companies on long-term embedded contracts. DevCircle Africa applicants can undertake training in software languages such as JavaScript, Typescript, React, React Native, Node, PHP and more.
Since its inception, DevCircle Africa has continually grown and adapted, all while staying true to its core values of education, collaboration, and innovation. Today, it stands as a testament to the vision and determination of its founder, Mark Sikaundi, and the collective efforts of a thriving community committed to making a positive impact in the world of technology and innovation.
