Deta Kalan is a small village of 2096 hectares in Sayla Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Deta Kalan depends on BHINMAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, which is 489.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Deta Kalan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Deta Kalan's pin code is 343032[4], and village code is 02274800. The area of Deta Kalan is segregated as 885 hectares irrigated area, 208 hectares unirrigated, the 443 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 516 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BHINMAL and Jalor to sell ghee and make their living.
