Delphos[1][2] is a Washington DC based financial advisory firm created in 1987.

Delphos was founded by William Delphos[3] . Prior to founding the company, William Delphos was senior vice president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. He stepped down from the board effective 20 January 2021.

Organization

Delphos advises corporates, fund managers, SMEs, sovereigns, and entrepreneurs in emerging markets[4][5][6][7][8].

It has for example worked for on a US$250 million hydropower plant on the front lines of the Kachin conflict in Myanmar tha has been largely idle since the day it opened in 2011 [9] [10].

Delphos is part of the investment network of the USAID [11].

Delphos has worked on USTDA-funded activities in Latin America, Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe [12].

Merger

Delphos has been acquired in 2020 by APQ Global[13].

In 2021, Delphos acquired a majority stake in Frontier Markets Advisors Inc. (FMA), a Canadian consulting firm.

Leadership

Bart Turtelboom[14][15][16] is chairman.

Andrew Brown[17] is CEO.

Funmi Akinluyi[18], a Nigerian national, is director at Delphos.

Angela Rodell[19], former CEO of the Alaska Permanent Fund|Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, is co-chair at Delphos.

Christian Novak[20], Argentinean and Canadian national, is CEO at Delphos – FMA. He is a professor at the Institute for study of international development, a think tank at McGill University.

Delphos works with former diplomats such as US ambassador to Argentina Noah Mamet, who is chair for the Americas. Roya Rahmani, who was the first woman to serve as Afghanistan’s ambassador to the United States, joined Delphos as vice chair of public policy.
