Deepak Shahi (born 5 December 2000), better know by his stage name Nepo, is an Indian dancer and choreographer from Uttarakhand, India. He is the winner of Red Bull Dance Your Style - India in 2021 and 2023 and represented India in the World Finals in South Africa and Germany.[1][2] He is a part of India's Best Dancer (Hindi TV series) season 4|India's Best Dancer (season 4) dance reality show.[3]
Early life and education
Shahi was born to Prakash Shahi and Asha Shahi on December 5, 2000. He started dancing in 2016 in Haldwani, India and has been practicing Hip-Hop for half his life in Haldwani’s public parks.[4]
Career
In 2022, Shahi participated in and won national Hip-Hop street dance battle competitions including Street Combat - The Jam.[5]
In 2023, Shahi took part in the Red Bull Dance Your Style for the second time. With a dance style described as a combination of tight choreography peppered with humour, naughtiness, and a je ne sais quoi attitude that could disarm anyone, he won the Red Bull Dance Your Style - India title.[6] He went on to represent India at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Germany.[7]
In 2024, he participated in the dance reality show India's Best Dancer (season 4) and is currently one of the Top 10 contestants on the show. He is partnered up with the choreographer Vartika Jha. [8]
