Deathpact is an electronic music producer. They debuted in 2018 on Rezz's album, Certain Kind of Magic with the track "Life and Death."[1] They later released three EPs, Cipher One and Cipher Two, and Departure on mau5trap.[2]

Career

Deathpact began their musical career with their single, Danger. However, upon the release of their collaboration with Rezz, Life & Death, Deathpact gained mainstream attention among EDM blogs.[3] Immediately following, Deathpact began an Alternate Reality Game campaign,[4] placing their mask over billboards and advertisements around New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.[5] Calling the phone number on the website the QR code linked to would lead down a litany of websites, leading to "keys," or clues to continue. These clues eventually lead to a flash drive hidden in Los Angeles, nicknamed Deathdrop One, which contained unreleased singles, eventually included on Cipher One.

Deathpact continued to gain attention outside of their collaborations with Rezz. Jean-Michel Jarre named Deathpact as an artist he would like to work with,[6] and they were also named one of Billboard's Ones to Watch in October, 2018.[7]After being featured on Diplo's Revolution on SiriusXM,[8] they continued to collaborate with artists like Zeds Dead, 1788-L, and Odesza. Entering 2018, they were announced as a headliner at the Shambhala Music Festival. Deathpact would later go on to release Kiss of Death with Rezz, on her album Certain Kind of Magic.[9][10] Following their world debut at Shambhala, they released Departure, their third EP. Deathpact was soon announced to be playing even more music festivals, like Electric Forest,[11] Meow Wolf, and Snowglobe Music Festival, where they made their US debut.[12][13]
