From 1910 to 1914 Davidkhanian attended Leipzig University in Germany. In 1914 he returned to Tbilisi, and was arrested several times by Russian Imperial police before Georgia’s independence in 1918 for his political activities and his membership in the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.

He was also assigned the supervision of the Armenian emigrants in the North Caucasus.[6][5] In this role, Davidkhanian opened orphanages and workhouses across the country, allocated three million rubles for the hungry in Akhalkalaki, and seventy-four million rubles for seeds. He also liaised with the British governor and signed an agreement with the National Armenian Relief Committee, entrusting them with the care of fifteen thousand orphans and ninety million rubles.[7]

After the sovietization of Georgia, Davidkhanian left the country and resided in Istanbul until 1923. He lived in several European cities until 1951, when he finally settled in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There, he served as editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Armenia. Davidkhanian died on August 7, 1957, in Buenos Aires.
