David Vuich (Serbian Cyrillic: Дејвид Вујић; born in Midland, Pennsylvania, United States of America, in 1935) is an American scientist of Serbian origin and the last living member of the "Serbian Seven" that participated in the Apollo space mission. He was a NASA Project Coordinator[1].

While working on the Apollo project, Vujić befriended cosmonaut Neil Armstrong (the first man to walk on the moon) and taught him a few Serbian words.[2]

He led a humanitarian organization that helped those in danger after the NATO aggression against Serbia-Montenegro in 1999.[3]

On 23 July 2019, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, received David Vujić during his stay in Serbia.[4] On the same day, he gave a lecture at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.[5]

On the Day of Serbian Statehood on 15 February 2020, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, awarded Vujić with the Order of Karađorđe's Star, first class.[6] Vujić was unable to attend the awarding ceremony, but he sent a letter of thanks in which he said, among other things[7]:

"When I was still a boy, my father often reminded me how lucky I was to be born an American, but also to never forget my Serbian heart, which must always be ready to pass on the knowledge of our glorious heritage, customs, traditions, folklore and religion, and to help those who need help."
