David Mulugheta (born 1983) is an American football agent at Athletes First in Laguna Hills, California. He currently represents 42 NFL players, including Jalen Ramsey, Deshaun Watson, Budda Baker, and Michael Thomas.
Early life
Mulugheta, the son of Eritrean immigrants was born in Dallas, Texas. David Mulugheta's father worked two jobs, one as a taxi driver and another at a gas station. The 37 year old agent recalls a visit from his teacher in eighth grade. His father was asleep on the couch and woke up to see David's teacher across the living room. The teacher had come to inform David's parents that their son had been acting out during class. David's father, who pushed his children very hard in school, asked the teacher what his son's grade in the class was. David was doing very well in the class, his grade was a ninety-nine. His father then promptly went back to sleep. He was please that his son was getting the job done. [1]
Education
David Mulugheta attended the University of Texas at Austin as well as the University of Nebraska College of Law.[2]
Career
David Mulugheta began his career as an intern at Athletes First in 2010, after meeting agent Andrew Kessler. Mulugheta became an NFLPA certified contract advisor in 2012 and became an agent at Athletes First.[3] Since then, David Mulugheta has gone on represent many Pro Bowl and All-Pro players. He is widely recognized as the most powerful agent in sports.
