David Moliner (born Cuenca, 1991) is a Spanish composer and percussionist of classical/contemporary music.
Biography
David Moliner started to study composition with Pascal Dusapin in Geneva University of Music. Subsequently, he studied at Berlin University of the Arts and in Barenboim-Said Akademie with Jörg Widmann. His music has been performed around Europe by orchestras, groups and soloists such as Jörg Widmann [1] Ensemble Intercontemporain, SWR Vokalensemble,[2] Lucerne Festival Academy,[3] Valencia Orchestra,[4] Camerata Nordica, [5] Spanish National Youth Orchestra, [6] and many others. As a percussionist he has played solo concerts in Young Euro Classic, [7] Konzerthaus Berlin, [8] Guggenheim Museum Bilbao [9] or in Museum Tinguely Basel.[10] He has been awarded several composition prizes among them the Lucerne Festival Roche Young Commissions in 2021.[11] His aesthetic is framed under the name of Expressive Dynamism, strongly influenced by composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Iannis Xenakis and Metamodernism. He was guest at universities like University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and University of Southern California[14]
