David Leppan is a South African-born British entrepreneur, philanthropist, big data scientist, chartered financial analyst and expert in risk management. Leppan is a tech-driven "serial entrepreneur"[1] and the founder/co-founder of: World-Check, Wealth-X, TravelShark, Gatehouse Publishing, and Captis Intelligence.[2]

Philanthropy

Leppan supports many charities including SOS Children's Villages as well as Happy Hearts.[3] In 2012, he donated US$1 million to the charitable organisation Global Poverty Project to help it stage a rock concert at theCentral Park, New York in order to raise money to end global poverty by 2030, which raised over US$1.31 billions in pledges.[4]

Career

Leppan worked previously as a financial risk analyst at Thomson Financial and Swiss Banks before he went on to establish with his ex-wife their first internet based company 'World Check' in late 2000, which he later sold to Thompson Rueters in 2011. He also co-founded another tech driven company 'TravelShark' in 2008.[5] Lepppan is also the co-founder and chairman of 'Wealth-X' and also founded the 'Gatehouse Publishing'.[6] He is also the co-founded and Chairman of 'Captis Intelligence', which is a global security and crime prevention company that he established in 2017.[7]
