David Kanduna is a Zimbabwean born Theatre and Film Practitioner who has participated in the entertainment industry. Alongside his career in acting and directing, he is also in supply chain, marketing, and business development.[1] Kanduna has also participated in sports, representing Zimbabwe in the Kabaddi team at the 2019 Kabaddi World Cup in Malaysia.[2]

Career Path

David Kanduna's journey in the entertainment industry began in 2013 when he formed the music group a1crew263. The group recorded and performed their songs at various festivals, including the Zim-Hip hop Awards and in Maun, Botswana. Kanduna also participated in presenting and came third on the reality show Presenter Search Zimbabwe in 2015.

During this period, Kanduna also ventured into acting and has featured in several television series, including "Muzita Rababa" on ZBC TV (2016)[3], "The Mystery of Mt Nyangani" thriller series[4], "Maoko Matema"[5] drama series on ZBC TV, "The World We Live In" 3ktv comedy sitcom,[6][7] "Bait to Justice" TV series by ZTN, and "Kuchina: The Genesis" another ZBC TV series where he played the role of Detective Skimbo.

Kanduna has also appeared in other movies, such as "8 Hours,"[8] "Rapid Contact (Whispers and Echoes)," "State of Malambia," "Triangled Love," "Amalgamated: The Dawn of Legends," "The Baby Father," "Twat Brothers," "Caught Up," "The Newspaper," "Streets," and "Advanced Levels Sitcom."

Kanduna was also involved in stage plays, including "Boss Boris," "Birds of a Feather," and "The Father."

Achievements and Recognition

David Kanduna has received nominations for local and regional awards .[9] He also participated some forums where he shares insights on entertainment and social issues. Moreover, Kanduna has featured in commercials for different brands.

Personal Life and Other Interests

Outside of his professional, David Kanduna has a passion for sports. He represented Zimbabwe as part of the Kabaddi team at the 2019 Kabaddi World Cup held in Malaysia.[10]
