David John nick named Joji Jose (born 13 March 1990) is an Indian film actor who works predominantly in Malayalam film industry[1]. David John made his debut in Amal Neerad's movie Iyobinte Pusthakam in 2014[2], playing the younger version of Jinu Joseph. Iyobinte Pusthakam was produced by Amal Neerad and Fahadh Faasil and released on 7 November 2014. David John has then been seen in many movies playing supporting roles and anti hero roles. David gained recognition from the movie Iyobinte Pusthakam starring Fahadh Faasil, Masterpiece (2017 film) starring Mammotty and subsequently as a contestant[3] in the Malayalam version of the popular reality show Bigg Boss which is hosted by Mohanlal .
Early life
David John was born in Dubai, UAE. His native is Irinjalakuda, Kerala and he currently stays in Kochi, Kerala, India. After his schooling, he became a graduate of Masters in Computer Application from Federal Institute of Science and Technology, Angamaly, Kerala, India. After his graduation, he worked as a software engineer. He the did modelling assignments and commercial endorsements initially before he landed a role in Iyobinte Pusthakam.
Acting Career
David secured a role to play the younger version of Jinu Joseph in Iyobinte Pusthakam when Amal Neerad chanced upon his photo. David then appeared in a comic role alongside Aju Varghese, Dhyan Sreenivsan, Neeraj Madav, Namitha Pramod in John Varghese movie Adi Kapyare Kootamani produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner of Friday Films House. He then played role of Suraj Venjaramoodu's son in Chandrettan Evideya starring Dileep and Anusree. He then played an anti-hero in movie The Great Father starring Mammootty and George Ettan’s Pooram starring[4] Dileep[5]. He appeared as lead in a musical short movie “Love @ fight fight“ directed by Anoop, brother of actor Dileep. David played one of the lead roles named Deepan in movie Masterpiece (2017 film) starring Mammooty directed by Ajai Vasudev.
After the release of Masterpiece (2017 film) he signed on to participate in the Malayalam version of the international reality show Biggboss hosted by Mohanlal. After his exit from the show, David acted in the movie Ullaasam starring Shane Nigam and also worked as a show stopper in fashion shows.[6]
