David C. Guth Jr. is an American health care executive who currently serves as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Centerstone, a not-for-profit health system headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee[1]. Guth has served in the capacity of chief executive officer at Centerstone since 1991 and has more than 40 years of behavioral health care experience[2]. He is well-known for his work in behavioral health acquisitions and mergers and authored the book Strategic Unions: A Marriage Guide to Healthy Not-For-Profit Mergers where he likens the merger and acquisition process to that of marriage[3].

Guth is the recipient of numerous industry recognitions including the National Association for Behavioral Healthcare 2010 Visionary Leadership award, and is recognized as one of Health Care’s Power Leaders by the Nashville Business Journal[4]. Guth currently serves on the Board of Directors for Triad Behavioral Health and serves on the Executive Committee for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention[5].National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention Guth graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree in social work from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
