Dasha Deckwerth has been a technology professional for over 25 years including 20 years of information security and assurance. She has led key cyber security initiatives within the government and civilian sectors where she has provided IT Security and Cyber Warfare services to NATO, various US, EU and Asian government agencies as well as multiple global commercial clients. She has designed and implemented security operations centers, incident response teams, delivered security consulting and regulatory compliance/ISO audits (in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia).
As a global Cyber-security Consultant and CISO she was in charge of setting up multiple CERTs across the globe for Managed Service Provider Atos, establishing multiple GRC and Cyber Security Frameworks and implementation for Fortune 100 and 500 corporations. She led 9 months Security & Risk Get Well Program for McGraw Hill Financial which included regulatory compliance, cyber security, vulnerability management and training. She also acted as Single Point of Contact for all Cyber Security issues during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for Olympic Broadcast Services (OBS). Later on she was on charge of design, implementation and management of the Security Operations Center for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games in Korea for OBS/OCS - including Incident Response. She consulted and presented to Dubai Health Authority CiO Forum on Data Security and Privacy and collaborated with INTERPOL on Project Stadia, Qatar focused on 2022 FIFA World Cup™ security. Prior to that, she was the Disaster Recovery Manager for a C4I system in the Abu Dhabi focusing on National Security, border protection and facial recognition. She also worked as the CISO for the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas during the opening and pre-opening phase, designing and implementing all cyber security related technologies and processes and gaming compliance.
Deckwerth served in the US NAVY and attended TUI and Trident University where she obtained her MBA and MSc. in Information Technology and Management. She completed her PhD (ABD) in Cyber Warfare and National Security. Over the years she also obtained multiple Cyber and Business Management certifications from University of Maryland, HEC Paris and SUNY. She speaks several languages and has earned numerous qualifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Confidentiality Officer/Counter Espionage (COO), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), NSA IAM/IEM (InfoSec Assessment and Evaluation Methodology), Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Auditor (PCI QSA) and PCIP, CRISC, CGEIT, HCISSP and CMMC PA 1-3. She was recently named Top 100 CISOs for 2020. She is currently writing her first book on Warfare and National Security.
