Danny Lucas is a British businessman[1] and the Managing Director of Lucas (contractor).[2]

Career

He started career as a trainee site labourer and subsequently made site foreman and then contracts manager.[3] When he started to manage larger projects, and became a shareholder, he was made a director of the company in 1990. He was made Managing Director in 1997.[4]

In 2010 and following a management buyout of the company, Danny was made Executive Chairman of the re-branded Lucas.[5] He subsequently worked on the Olympic Stadium and other official venues for the London 2012 Olympic Games and took part in the opening ceremony.

In 2014 Lucas founded an app called LitterGram[6] aimed at making littering socially unacceptable and highlighting the issue using a social media approach that connects the public with all 433 councils in the UK.[7]

In 2018, he was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" at the Kent Excellence in Business Awards[8] and again by the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Awards 2018.[9]

In 2019 he judged the Paint the Future start-up challenge programme by AkzoNobel in Amsterdam.[10][11]

Lucas introduced building site-based lung testing sessions for the British Lung Foundation.[12][13]
