Roger Danilo Vásquez (born 5 May 1960), known as Danilo Vásquez, is a Salvadoran poet, author and teacher.[1]

Biography

Vásquez was born in San Miguel, in the San Miguel Department of El Salvador.[2] His education began at the Central America School in Santa Rosa de Lima, he studied there from 1st to 6th grade, it was during those years that he began to write poems, later he entered the María Escobar Granillo School in San Miguel to attend 7th grade, his move He ended up in San Salvador at the Doroteo Vasconcelos School where he attended 9th grade and the twists and turns of life made him return to Santa Rosa de Lima to finish his basic education at the Central America School.[3]

He studied high school at the Prof. José Luis López National Institute, in the municipality of Jocoro, department of the Department of Morazán. He obtained a Bachelor of Letters degree from the University of El Salvador. Vásquez is Founder and Editor of the Xilonem magazine and the 4 Semanas Cultural Newspaper, he is also the main promoter of the "4 Semanas" Cultural Workshop, he also collaborated in the Tres Mil Cultural Supplement.[4]

He currently lives in Santa Rosa de Lima and works as a Basic Education teacher at the Central America School, the oldest in that town. He dedicates part of his time to work at the Centro de Asuntos Lencas, where he has the title of Master of Lenka Culture, giving history and research workshops, as well as facilitating interviews, reports on the Managuara Region.[5]
