Daniel Nusser was born on November 30, 1989 in Fort Polk, Louisiana which is in Army base in the Southern part of the United States. His mother was honorably discharged twice from the United States military. Once from the Marine Corps (1982) and secondly from the US Army (1990). His father Daniel Nusser moved stateside with the family as Daniel’s mother served. Daniel Nusser, the father, earned two Associate degrees in his lifetime; one in Nursing (from Sinclair College in Ohio) and another as an Automotive Technician (completed in Louisiana at Lamar Salter Technical Institute). His mother went on to earn an Associate degree in health information management from Broward College in Florida.
His mother was born in Ecuador while his dad was born in New York City, New York. His mom is of European (Spain) and Native American (South America) ancestry while his father is Scottish, Irish and German. Much of Daniel’s and his father’s American ancestry hail from Illinois and Ohio and Pennsylvania. Whereas Daniel’s mother arrived in New York City in the early 1970s with her family from Ecuador.
Education
Daniel went to high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and graduated from Stranahan high school in 2007. Daniel joined the United States Army Reserves in 2013 from Albany, New York. He went on to earn an Associate degree from Guilford Technical Community College which is in North Carolina in 2017. Then went to Purdue Global online to earn a Bachelor degree in business administration in 2018. He subsequently attended Liberty University online while using the GI Bill for a Master of Business Administration and graduated in 2021. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves in 2021.
Army Service
Daniel completed Basic Training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and then completed military occupation specialty in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He attended Basic Leaders Course in 2018 as a Specialist, which is the first school for developing E4s into Non-Commissioned Officers. He previously attended civil affairs specialist training in Fort Knox, Kentucky which was training location for his second MOS. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Ribbon, and the Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon.
Life After the Army
Daniel applied to Liberty University in 2018 shortly before graduating from Purdue Global. Although he graduated from Liberty’s online program in 2021, he began working in the admissions department at Liberty university where he spent almost six years contributing efforts to the mission of higher education administration. He assisted nearly 90,000 prospective students and applied over 3,600 individuals to the school. While working as an education consultant he learned the processes of how to apply students for licensure and has over 15 educational certificates himself from various states. Some of the educational certificates are teacher’s substitute, business education teacher, and school business administrator.
As of November of 2025, Daniel is in the process of returning to work for the military, having resigned from his position at Liberty University in June of 2025. Daniel is in the process of commissioning as an officer in the US Navy and completing four years of active duty service by the end of 2030. This will become the halfway point of his military service. He hopes to serve for a total of twenty years with a mix of both reservist and a active duty time.
Hobbies
In his spare time, Daniel likes to invest in the New York Stock Market and exercise. He is an avid foodie, often trying a restaurant at least once, and diet conscience. He sends a lot of his time staying current on educational literature and working on continuing education.
