Danau Kalan is a small village of 526 hectares in Bassi Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Danau Kalan depends on Jaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 245.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Danau Kalan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Danau Kalan's pin code is 303302[4], and village code is 01619500. The area of Danau Kalan is segregated as 245 hectares irrigated area, 142 hectares unirrigated, the 76 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 63 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaipur and Jaipur to sell wood furniture and make their living.
