Dan Lok (Chinese: 駱鋒; born November 24, 1981) is a Chinese-Canadian entrepreneur, business mentor, author, and high-ticket sales expert. He is best known for his work in sales training, entrepreneurship coaching, and personal development. Lok is the founder of Dragon 100™, a business advisory program, and the managing partner of DragonX Capital, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage companies.[1]
Early Life and Education
Dan Lok was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada with his mother after his parents divorced.[2] His family faced financial struggles, and he took on various side jobs to support them. Lok attended Douglas College in British Columbia but dropped out to pursue entrepreneurship.[3]
Career
Lok started his entrepreneurial journey with several failed business ventures, accumulating a debt of $150,000 by the age of 21.[3] His breakthrough came when he was mentored by Alan Jacques, a copywriting expert.[4] Under Jacques' guidance, Lok mastered high-ticket sales and launched his own advertising agency.
By the age of 27, Lok became a self-made millionaire.[5] He later established himself as a business coach, helping entrepreneurs and professionals scale their businesses. His company has generated over $100 million in revenue through coaching programs, digital courses, and consulting services.[6]
Lok has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Business Insider, Money, and TEDx.[1]
Business Ventures
Lok is the chairman of Dragon 100™, an advisory group for seven- and eight-figure entrepreneurs. He is also the managing partner of DragonX Capital, a venture capital firm focusing on startups outside of Silicon Valley.[7]
In addition to his coaching and investment ventures, Lok has written 12 books on sales, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
Controversies
In 2019, Lok was sued for allegedly failing to pay rent on a luxury property in West Vancouver.[8]
Philanthropy
Lok is a supporter of Be The Match, a nonprofit organization that helps people with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.[9] His advocacy is driven by personal experiences, including his mother’s battle with cancer and the loss of his mother-in-law to the disease.
Personal Life
Lok resides in Vancouver, Canada, with his wife, Jennie Li.[10]
